
This picture which i pasted on the left is a food names "Kasujiru". Do you know this food? I think most of people doesn't know. Because this food is from Kansai( the western part of the Japan). Many people in Keio comes from Kantou, where the Tokyo is located, so when i talk about this kasujiru to my friend, most of them says they don't know. The reason why i know this food is because my mother is from Kobe in Kansai.
In this photo , it is using sarmon. It has nice taste to have sarmon in it and most of house in kansai puts in sarmon into Kasujiru. However, in my house, my mother and my grand mother says that sarmon gets some kind of smell like fish. So we use beef to make kasujiru. There are many vegitables in the kasujiru too.
Anyway, the name Kasujiru comes from "Sakekasu" and "Omisosiru". You know Omisosiru (Miso- soup) right? However, this soup doesn't use miso. It uses the sakekasu. Sakekasu is something you get when you make the sake(alcohol). However, you don't need sakekasu to sake. We use that sakekasu to put the taste on. In my house, we will put in carrots, japanese radish, potatoes, konnyaku, and beef. It is very tasty and I like it since I was very young. However, most of my friends doesn't know kasujiru so I would like to make it and give it to my friend if I have chance.
